PT Perikanan Indonesia immediately took steps to help fishermen after the increase in fuel prices. This is done by trying to ensure that the waters reached by fishermen have plenty of fish.
Thus, the consumption of fuel by fishermen is expected to be effective in line with the number of fish caught. Following the price of subsidized fuel including diesel which has increased.
“We help fishermen to stay at sea and maintain fish supplies for domestic and international markets,” said Director of Indonesian Fisheries Sigit Muhartono in an official statement, Wednesday (7/9/2022).
Fuel is one of the main components in the operational costs of fishermen, in addition to the cost of crew salaries (ABK). With such conditions, fishermen find it difficult to go to sea while the operational costs of the ship still have to be borne by them.
