Surabaya – In order to resolve the obstacles to the export of Indonesian marine and fishery products to the People’s Republic of China after the case of rejection of fishery products by the Customs of the People’s Republic of China or the General Administration of Costums China (GACC), the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment through the Assistant Deputy for Competitiveness Improvement held a coordination meeting on Monday (27 – 02 – 2023).

Indonesia’s fishery product exports to China are currently dominated by cuttlefish, squid, seaweed, and fish. In 2021, Indonesia’s fishery product exports to China reached 15.6%. Due to the Covid-19 trace contamination inspection, there were several exports that were detained and returned again due to positive indications.

Through the submission of GACC announcement number 131 of 2022 related to quarantine management of imported products, it was conveyed that the GACC since January 8, 2023 no longer applies the Covid test inspection at the receiving port.

The results of the Coordination Meeting on GACC held by the Coordinating Ministry for Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment on February 9, 2023 in Bogor, the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Fishery Product Safety Agency (BKIPM) conveyed data information from a total of 521 UPI holders of Noreg China there are 94 UPI (extension) and 9 UPI (new) or 103 UPI approved status; 177 UPI have registered but are still waiting for GACC’s response; 22 UPI are rejected by GACC; 16 UPI have not been able to access CIFER because they are still suspended (Covid findings); 51 UPI are suspended by GACC (outside Covid findings) and 161 UPI do not access the application through CIFER.

This coordination meeting is a follow-up coordination meeting aimed at solving the problem of UPI’s difficulty in obtaining a new Approval number from GACC through the China Import Food Enterprises Registration (CIFER) application, especially for 177 UPIs that have carried out the registration process but have not received a response from GACC. After the coordination meeting, the activity continued with field visits to several UPIs in East Java to find data related to direct conditions in the field and the problems faced.
